Hello from Woodstock, GA

Enjoy!
"The airplane was great. I got to talk to the people sitting next to me about the Book of Mormon. One of them was very humble and excited about the message. He was really interested about how Jesus visited the American continent and when I showed him where he could read it, he loved it. He read like 20 chapters all throughout the book. He loved how we could tell him exactly where the Book of Mormon came from.
"When we arrived in Georgia, the first thing we did was talk to those around us on the MARTA about the Gospel. That was a neat experience. Everyone is interested and excited to talk to you so you have a lot of chanced to bear your testimony. It is interesting how easy it is to talk about the Gospel once you start talking to someone.
"I was assigned to serve in Woodstock, it's on the far west side of the mission. My companion is Elder Hemsley, he is from Kaysville, UT. It's crazy cause he has only been out for 3 months. It is a biking area, I was so exhausted the first couple of days. I wasn't too excited about biking everywhere all day bit it is getting easier each day and I am liking it more and more. Woodstock has a lot of hills so biking around all day is hard.
"The ward is awesome, the food has been spectacular! We get fed every night from the members and Elder Hemsley said he doesn't know a bad cook in the ward, so far I agree with him. Plus the members make their best when the missionaries com over so I have had some great southern cooking this week. I've had some amazing chicken pot pie and really really good pork chops, and other good meals. Elder Hemsley said even though you are biking around all day it is impossible not to gain any weight from the way the members cook food.
"So to my surprise, missionaries sing in the ward choir and so we sang on Sunday. The choir is really small, only 2 other men sing in the choir. The song turned out pretty good on Sunday, the ward isn't very lucky to have me singing in the choir. "

Elder Jordan asked to have a couple of things sent from home, the weather is colder then anticipated at this time of year so he needed some things to keep him warm while biking everywhere.

We hope you have enjoyed this message and Elder Jordan would LOVE to hear from you. You can either leave some comments that I will be sure to pass on or write him a letter!'

Elder Jordan has Arrived

We are still waiting to hear from Elder Jordan since he has arrived in Georgia. We did receive a sweet letter from his Mission Presidents wife, Sister King. As soon as Elder Jordan arrived, he was immediately immersed with the Lord's word. He began speaking to other on the train about the Gospel and handing out Book of Mormons, "Truth Restored"/ mormon.org cards, and The Restoration pamphlets.
We are extremely excited to hear how the first week went and hopefully we receive some letters soon. I know Elder Jordan will be and IS and amazing missionary. I am so pleased with the choices he is making and it has strengthened my testimony every day praying for him and knowing he is serving our dear Heavenly Father and brother, Jesus Christ.

Here a picture that was sent along with the letter. This is his entire group that arrived with him in Georgia and President and Sister King.

Hello from the MTC

I received a letter from Elder Jordan yesterday afternoon along with some pictures of other Elders in his district. Here is some of what he had to say

"Thank you for the cookies, they were really good. They didn't last very long cause they were so good. The MTC is really fun with the people on my floor and in my District. It is fun working with them and the nights are really fun after a long day. My companion is Elder Willis." (a picture of him is below) "We get a long really well. The food is better than I expected. Breakfast isn't very good, but lunch and dinner are. I've gained 10 Lbs from eating it. I still haven't seen Kristen working at the cafeteria." (this is our cousin) "I really like working at the RC. This is where you call people that have called from Pass-a-long card and TV ads. Its fun talking to real people and trying to get them to meet with the missionaries and bearing testimony of the Book of Mormon. Its cool when someone decided to meet with the missionaries after hearing your message and testimony.
"Gym time is really fun. I'm one of the best 4 square players in the MTC. They call me the Wolf Man cause I wear my wolf shirt when I play." (He has this shirt, that I wish I had a picture of. It is a huge white and gray wolf that he would wear randomly, like the one in White Fang). "My floor also calls me Elder Jim Carey cause
I guess I look like him, especially when I comb my hair the way I do."(This is really funny cause a lot of people say our older brother, Ricky, looks like Jim Carey too!)

Elder Jordan also received some Halloween cupcakes and some cute pictures by our nieces that he said he really like. Elder Jordan is scheduled to leave for Atlanta on October 13th at 2pm. He is in charge of making sure all of the missionaries in his group get there safely.
It has been really exciting to hear from him. I will be sure to keep you all updates, hopefully weekly. Leave comments and I will be sure to pass them on to him!

Elder Jordan called this a Double Stuff Oreo
Elder Jordan thinks some of the trees at the MTC smell like Cream Soda, anyone agree?
